We support women in having a choice where to have their baby as having this choice has been shown to have a positive effect on the birth experience.

The choice of having a home birth or a birth in our Birth Centres will routinely be offered to you if you have a straight forward pregnancy which means that you do not have any known complications that may affect your pregnancy and the birth.

If your pregnancy is not straightforward, you will be offered the choice to have your baby in one of our Delivery Suites where we can provide high quality, safe care to meet your individual needs.

We have three hospital sites that support care both in the community and the hospital. In the main this is for women who live in the boroughs of Lewisham, Greenwich and Bexley.

However, we do also welcome women from outside these boroughs.

At two of our hospitals; University Hospital Lewisham and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Greenwich, we provide care during pregnancy, labour and after the birth. At our third hospital, Queen Mary’s Hospital in Bexley, we provide care during pregnancy and after the birth.
